TinkerRocket Privacy Policy
Effective date: [June 20, 2026]
Tinker Rocket (“the app”) is a companion app for model-rocket flight computers, published by Christian Pedersen (Tinkerbug Robotics). In short: the app requires no account, and we do not collect, store, or sell your personal information.
Information used on your device
- Bluetooth — to connect directly to your rocket’s flight computer or base station.
- Location (while using the app) — to show direction and distance to your rocket for recovery, and to set launch/landing points in the drift-cast tool.
- Camera, Microphone, Photos — only if you choose to record video during ground pyro-channel testing; recordings are saved to your photo library.
- Flight logs and rocket profiles — stored locally on your device.
We operate no servers that receive this information, and the app contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking.
Requests to third parties (functional only — not linked to your identity, not used for tracking)
- Map tiles — Apple Maps, the U.S. Geological Survey National Map, and ArcGIS. The map region you view or download is sent to these providers to retrieve imagery.
- Wind forecasts (Open‑Meteo) — when you use the drift-cast tool, the launch/landing coordinates you select are sent to Open‑Meteo to retrieve a forecast.
These providers handle that data under their own privacy policies.
Retention & deletion — Your data (logs, profiles, downloaded maps, settings) stays on your device; delete it in-app or by removing the app.
Children — The app is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect their information.
Changes — Updates will be posted at this URL with a new effective date.
